Description and comments: "The speed and daring skill of Juanito Apinani at Madrid."  "Apinani was very celebrated as a bullfighter on foot and a "Banderillas" from 1764 to 1770, and through he was not a famous "matador", he must have been very skilled for he was of the best-paid bullfighters of his time.  Here he is seen leaping over an attacking bull using his long lance.  It would be hard to design more skilfully the attack of the bull and the graceful figure of the bullfighter leaping in the air.  These movements show no stiffness whatever.
Black and white tones of presentation image may vary slightly from original.
