Circa: 1842
Size: Sheet approximately 20” x 14”

Comments: The publication of the port-folio was incredibly complicated and passed through multiple publishers and printers. Volume I was done by Edward C. Biddle; volumes II & III were done by Rice and Clark after rights were transfered from the bankrupt F. W. Greenough, with J. T. Bowen entering into the project about 1837. The full history of the publication events are too long and diverse to explain here but full background can be found by sourcing with a URL. Thomas McKinney was Superintendent of Indian Affairs under four presidents and James Hall joined the project as a writer in 1837. Copyright dated 1842 by J. T. Bowen
