Comment: Brilliant example of the late caricature of George Cruikshank, last of the great caricaturists beginning with Hogarth. He specialized in satirizing fashion and culture, rather than politics. In this plate 5, young master Will Blockhead in a sea battle, Midshipman Blockhead skewers a French Officer through the heart, thus gaining the reputation and hence advancement.
Coloration of presentation varies slightly from original print and background hue/s
